Here is the 3rd page of the 2nd chapter. From this page on, the coloring and textures are done not by me but by my new lovely assistant. I believe that with her help, I’ll be able to produce more pages of the webcomic. I’m very happy with the result of the page. I’m really impressed with the flowers on the kimono and the skin shading she used.
The next page is in the work, you should be seeing it published soon thanks to my lovely assistant.
Thank you for reading my webcomic.

Hi,
As you may know, I love everything about comic books. I love a good story and enjoy good art. This past year I’ve found something Kickstarter thanks to a photographer / writer Ian X on Twitter. One of the projects that caught my eye was Recipes for the Dead 2: Apricot Asylum written by Vera Greentea and drawn by Allison Strom. I loved the idea of funding an independent comic with Kickstarter, because I love to read new comics by different people.
After sending my funds I got access to the 1st book in pdf format and enjoyed every page. I kept reading the updates from Vera on the Kickstarter page and on Twitter. A lot of work and love has been given to this project. I believe that it was about a week ago when I saw a post with the books in a box, so I thought “Oh, this means that the comic is going to come soon”. Well, soon came in fast! This Thursday I got mail from NJ USA. It was the finished product signed by Vera. I re-read the 1st comic and open the 2nd once I was done.
The quality of the print was really well done, the paper is thick and the ink is brilliant on the glossy paper. The story continues after the 1st book and flows very well. Allison’s art is alive with movement and expression. I really loved how the characters were drawn. It’s a different art style from Ein Lee (who was the artist for the 1st book), but I knew who was who without having to think to open up the 1st comic open again. There isn’t one page that I didn’t have to study for a few minutes after reading it. There’s just a lot of quality in the coloring and the textures of each page. The fonts used for the text blended very well with the art and didn’t look out of place. Very well done!
It’s always fun to get something in the mail, and I really love it when it’s something new and refreshing. Now… I just can’t wait for more! I hope that Vera will use Allison or Ein for the 3rd book. I really can’t wait for it to land in my comic collection. But I will have to wait a little more longer.
If you have the chance please support this comic / project. I think that Recipes for the Dead is one of the best comic books I’ve read in a long time. You can find the 1st two books on the Greenteapublishing website for 6$ each (2nd book is coming soon on the website).
Thank you for reading the review and thank you for writing and drawing such a great comic.

Irashaimasei! Welcome to the 2nd chapter of RFS. A lot of things are going to happen in this chapter, be sure to come often to see the progression of the story. I’m going to be working hard to make sure you get pages on time… and art on the side. I’ll be writing blog posts like I do about the website and some of my hobbies…
If I find a cool tip or see a good movie, I’ll be sure to write about them right here!
Thank you for reading my web-comic. Be sure to save my comic on your home screen on your iPhone/touch/Pad and Android device. The Icon I have made seems to be working for them. I’ll be making Icons for many artists on the web who have a web-comic too. Keep an eye on your emails!!

Testing a new idea for Favicons for the iPhone
by Gedrges on February 18, 2012 at 6:40 PMThis is a small update. If you’re viewing my webcomic on your iPhone or iPad you can save the page on the home-screen and you’ll get an icon like the one you see with this post. I believe that all websites should be using these now.
I use a plugin to make it work… The name of the plugin is Multicons… and it works great.
If you don’t have WordPress, here is how you do it.
iPhone Favicons
First you’ll want to create a 57×57 PNG. Then save it as apple-touch-icon.png. Go ahead and upload it to the root folder of your website. Much like a favicon, you can override it with a simple line of code in your head tag.
<link rel="apple-touch-icon" href="/customIcon.png"/>Don’t worry about trying to make the icon glossy. The iPhone will take care of that for you. For more on this, head over to dev.apple.com/iphone
I’ve also read this…
Two ways to get the icon on iPhone…
1. Place an image titled “apple-touch-icon.png” in your site’s root. Don’t worry about giving it the trademark glossy look, the iPhone will do that automatically.
2. In your site’s header place the following line of code:
<link rel="apple-touch-icon" href="/custom_icon.png"/>Using this method you can name the file whatever you’d like and place it in any directory.
Finally 1 more piece of information if you don’t want a glossy icon…
- If you ARE specifying the URL of the home screen icon in your HTML,
change:<link rel="apple-touch-icon" href="/apple-touch-icon.png" />
to:<link rel="apple-touch-icon-precomposed" href="/apple-touch-icon.png" />
Note that you don’t need to update or touch the image.- If you’re NOT specifying the icon’s URL in your HTML, then rename the apple-touch-icon.png image file to apple-touch-icon-precomposed.png.
Thank you for reading… You might have noticed that I’m not using a 57×57 icon for my own website. I’m using 129×129 and it looks a lot better. Sure the file is a little bigger, but I believe it’s worth it.
Chapter two is coming soon.

Last page of the RedFlag 1st Chapter!
This could happen to many online webcomics if the USA passed SOPA and PIPA. The internet has to be a place were people are free to say what they want. Talk with the people you know about these two bills and make sure they never see light of day. If you don’t it will be the end of the internet as you know it today. Fight for your rights, and don’t let some people dictate what you can post on the internet or not!
